Welcome Aboard!
If you have browsed through the Print Workshop Central site and are convinced that the project is something that your studio should join, here’s how to go about it.
Start by re-reading the How Print Workshop Central Works page on PWC: That will give you an overview of the PWC site’s operating procedures, philosophy and cost. You might also like to look at some of the workshops which are already online with us, in order to get some ideas. Here are a few:
- londonprintstudio, London, U.K.
- Hampton Editions, Sag Harbor, N.Y., U.S.A.
- Underground Impressions Souterrains, Quebec, Canada
- Pomegranate Editions, Granada, Spain
It might also be helpful for your to read our Frequently Asked Questions page. If, after reading this documentation, you still have questions, please send them to Mike Booth at mike@worldprintmakers.com.
Then start assembling the text, images (and a link to your video if you have one) you want to send us for your studio’s page on PWC. Usually most of the text we need can be cut and copied off your website. That makes the job simpler. As far as images are concerned, the more pictures the better. Exteriors, interiors, director and staff members, presses and other equipment (preferably with people working on them), workshops, exhibits, and of course your printmakers and their prints. We will be using these images for illustrating your studio’s page, for illustrating articles (such as this one, which includes photos from Fyns Grafiske Vaerksted), for the media and for a big presentation we will be doing on Flickr.com of all the Print Workshop Central participants. Inevitably, other image necessities will arise, so please send lots of photographs.
Once we receive the text and images (and video if you have one) it will take us just a couple of days to have your studio online on Print Workshop Central.
Welcome aboard!
P.S. And don’t forget, if you’re not ready for a paid participation yet, there’s always our Free option, which includes your name and contact details, one photograph and a brief one-paragraph description.
Mike, I think this is a really interesting web-site, and obviously it has really taken off.
I would like to be able to participate in the members forum but I could see no way of establishing a password.
Perhaps you have to be ‘a workshop’ to participate?
I am just one interested old printmaker working alone.
Perhaps you could let me know. Thanks.
